600 Patients Screened at Free Multi-Specialty Health Camp, New Delhi
On the occasion of International Women's Day, a free multi-specialty health check-up camp was organized today at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan by the Om Help Foundation, courtesy of the Airport Authority's welfare wing (*Kalyanmayi*). The camp was presided over by Dr. Kavita Tyagi, a Senior Cardiologist from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. During the camp, approximately 600 patients were examined by a team of specialists, including Senior Cardiologist Dr. Kavita Tyagi, Gastroenterologist Dr. Naresh Bansal, Gynecologists Dr. Kokil Bhardwaj and Dr. Shraddha Srivastava, and Dr. Rohan Arora, among others.
Speaking on the occasion of Women's Day, Dr. Kavita Tyagi raised awareness among all women regarding the growing risks of heart attacks. She noted that in today's times, there is a continuous rise in heart attack cases among women due to Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), which is a matter of serious concern.
Dr. Tyagi explained that while heart disease was previously considered a condition primarily affecting men, women are now increasingly falling victim to it due to changing lifestyles, stress, irregular dietary habits, and a lack of physical activity. She advised women to be proactive about their health and to undergo regular check-ups.
She further stated that heart attack symptoms in women often manifest differently; for instance, in addition to chest pain, symptoms may include fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, and pain in the jaw or back. Ignoring such symptoms can be dangerous. On this occasion, she urged women to maintain a balanced diet, exercise regularly, and reduce stress.
Dr. Kokil raised awareness regarding the prevention of women-specific ailments, such as breast cancer and cervical cancer. Essential diagnostic tests—including blood pressure (BP) checks, blood sugar tests, ECGs, lipid profiles, BMI assessments, and CBC tests—were also conducted free of cost at the camp.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Bachan Singh Rana, Chairman of the Om Help Foundation, announced that this marked the 60th health camp organized by the foundation. He emphasized that the foundation remains committed to serving the public in education and healthcare.
